Basic Expenses

In these devastating and frightening times we, like so many other animal rescues, are striving to continue our work. TMTRD is a non-profit organization, dedicated to serving Thailand’s street dogs solely out of passion and love for animals. From feeding the stray dog community, working to spay/neuter, providing medical attention, educating the locals, and everything in between, the team at TMTRD devote their lives to bettering the lives of Thailand’s forgotten street dogs.

And with an estimated 750,000 street dogs, every day brings different challenges and new souls in-need of rescue. Caring for the dogs costs around 30,000 baht each day (950 USD). This cost includes aspects of both the animal care for the dogs already in the TMTRD sanctuary, as well as for the many dogs on the streets. We have a staff of 15 amazing individuals who make all this possible, but with having 660 dogs in our care, this number adds up quickly. But today, our rescue animals need a different hero.

During this time of uncertainty, our priority is to remain committed to the safety of our community, staff, and resident dogs. But due to restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, we are running low on funding, and desperately need help to ensure that each four-legged member of our TMTRD family will continue to receive the same level of care and support that they need throughout this time of crisis. 

We are asking for your help, at whatever level you can afford, to champion the continuous welfare of the dogs, for whom, without the sanctuary, would have nowhere else to go. Every penny will matter and will go a long way to getting us through these next couple of months. And even though we remain closed to the public, our TMTRD dogs have been able to feel supported, thought of, and loved from miles, even continents away– and it is all because of you!  Please share this plea to help TMTRD get the maximum exposure needed to carry this life-saving journey long into the future.

– Caring for 660 dogs
– Medical emergencies and new rescues
– Fieldwork, such as going out daily to feed the dogs on the streets
– Basic treatment such as Spay and neuter, vaccinations and medications
– Our free-of-charge clinic (which will be re-opened to the public when deemed safe)
– 8 quarantine rooms (where the dogs first stay upon being rescued)
– 15 staff who care for our dogs
– 2 construction and maintenance guys
– 2 amazing veterinarians
– TMTRD’s adoption team (3 dedicated individuals) who find our dogs forever, families.
