Batgirl – Paralyzed and bone pipe sticking out

19 November 2018. I was on my way to Bangkok and passed this little female dog. I use to see her daily when I’m on my feeding rounds. She has an owner, but the owner thinks it’s ok to have her run close by the big motorway. This morning I saw her and she was dragging her legs. She has been hit by a car. I took her up and brought her to the clinic. She’s around 4-5 years old. Admitted for now. I named her: Batgirl

23 November 2018. Batgirl is still at the clinic getting the wound clean daily and medication. She doesn’t say much and is resting a lot.

11 December 2018. Batgirl had her both backlegs amputated a few days back. Here she is practicing how to walk on her front legs.
A few more days in the clinic and then to us in the shelter with many new friends.

27 December 2018. Well, little did we know when we rescued her on 19 November from the car accident that made her paralyzed, that she was pregnant. The pups survived the accident and she due to give birth to 4 puppies in around 1 week from now. Congratulations mother Batgirl, I’m sure you will have some fine bat-kids.

1 January 2019. UPDATE: Batgirl gave birth to 4 puppies this morning.

Batgirl is in our foster place with her new big family of many dogs with special needs. She’s lovely, and walks around greeting all staff and some dogs, every morning.
